The Nansen Seminar is a meeting point for practitioners of dialogue, a place to share hands-on experience from working in conflict areas and divided communities. The seminar contain both presentations and workshops, and attracts an audience of dialogue practitioners, diaspora, peace movement, students and researchers, in addition to friends of the Nansen Center for Peace and Dialogue (NCPD) and the Nansen Academy.
This year, the Nansen Seminar will explore the role of dialogue in peacebuilding through sharing experiences from national and international dialogue work. Through a variety of workshops, the participants of the Nansen Seminar will able to enhance their dialogue skills by supervision from the NCPD and other actors. The Nansen Seminar will enable practitioners of dialogue to meet and share their experiences as well as discussing and developing dialogue as a method.
The seminar will take place at the Nansen Centre for Peace and Dialogue in Lillehammer, Norway. The Nansen Academy’s boarding will be used for accommodation, and the attendance fee includes meals as specified below.
Main speaker and facilitator: Koenraad Van Brabant, Head of Reflective Practice and Learning at Interpeace. Mr Van Brabant has extensive experience from humanitarian work and peacebuilding, and as a dialogue facilitator. Other speakers will include dialogue practitioners from a variety of conflict situations. We will invite dialogue practitioners from Somalia, Afghanistan, India, Serbia and Norway.
